Next Hydrogen Corporation to Supply Hydrogen Generator to Canadian Tire Corporation

March 30, 2014

Next Hydrogen Corporation has been selected by Canadian Tire Corporation (CTC) to supply a hydrogen generator for use in CTC’s Powered by Hydrogen pilot project. The hydrogen generator will produce high purity hydrogen gas from water. The hydrogen is used to fuel a PEM fuel cell which generates electricity without combustion emissions – replacing lead acid batteries. Hydrogen is clean renewable energy which supports sustainability goals. CTC is analyzing the productivity improvements achievable by using hydrogen energy in its mobile equipment operations.

“We are pleased to be working with Next Hydrogen Corporation as a key member of our project team. It is important for us to use a Canadian technology leader that has a thorough understanding of our priorities of system efficiency and a commitment to delivering life cycle value” said Brad Chittick, Associate Vice President, Supply Chain Facilities and Maintenance, Canadian Tire Corporation.

“We are excited to have the opportunity to work with CTC, a world-class leader in applying technology to supply chain operations. CTC has rigorous standards of performance for its suppliers and we are honored to be competitively selected” said Jim Hinatsu, CEO of Next Hydrogen Corporation.

Next Hydrogen Corporation is a Canadian Supplier of advanced, large-scale water electrolyser systems and modules.
